The Gullah Festival will sponsor a ceremony honoring those who died at sea at 4 p.m. May 27 at the Richard V. Woods Memorial Bridge in Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park, downtown Beaufort.

116TH ANNUAL BEAUFORT MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
The 116th annual Beaufort Memorial Day parade begins with lineup at 9 a.m. and the parade at 10 a.m. May 28 at Rodgers Street, next to Beaufort National Cemetery. This year's parade route will avoid Bladen Street, which is blocked for construction. The route will go from Rodgers to Boundary to Carteret to Bay streets. It will continue on Bay to Adventure and conclude at the cemetery. U.S. Navy Capt. Joan Queen, commanding officer of Beaufort Naval Hospital, will speak at noon at the services inside the cemetery. MEMORIAL DAY OBSERVANCE AT SHELTER COVE
A Memorial Day Observance presented by Col. Robert Jones, USMC, Commanding Officer, Recruit Training Regiment, Parris Island and sponsored by the Hilton Head Island Council of the Navy League is at 10:30 a.m. May 28, Veterans Memorial Park, Shelter Cove, Hilton Head Island. Free.
