The Society of Bluffton Artists' Black and White Photography Exhibition runs through April 21 at the group's gallery at 8 Church St. in old town Bluffton.
On March 18, SoBA awarded first place to Wes Grady, local photographer and writer for Dude Magazine, for "On the Beach," a photo of a line of spectators at the Marsh Tacky races on Hilton Head Island.
Grady is very involved in the local photography community. He is a member of the Camera Club of Hilton Head Island, The Carolina Nature Photographers Association and the Photo Clubs of Sun City Hilton Head and Beaufort.
Second place went to Ron Roth for "Walt's Window," a contrast of lights and darks. Third place went to Scott Elliot for "Frank," an up-close-and-personal cat portrait. Honorable mentions went to Jean-Marie Cote for "Light Magic 2" and Amy Bergeron for "Gram."
Never miss a local story.
Art Cornell judged the exhibit, which had 94 entries from 62 photographers.
