Rachel Heaton and Chris Damgen, both of Beaufort, were married June 8, 2013, in the Tabby Garden at The Beaufort Inn. Lucas Farmer officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at the Old Bay Marketplace and Rooftop Deck.
The bride is the daughter of Craig and Kim Heaton of Norman, Okla. She graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor's degree in journalism. She is the assistant features editor at The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette.
The groom is the son of Manfred and Heidi Damgen of Sugarmill Woods, Fla. He graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in city and regional planning. He is the downtown development manager for the City of Hardeeville.
The bride was given away by her father. Maid of honor was Juana Summers of Washington, D.C. Bridesmaids were Rachael Powell of St. Louis, Mo., friend of the bride, and Sarah Heaton of Norman, Okla., sister of the bride.
Best man was Glenn Orman of Fort Worth, Texas. Groomsmen were Derek Berberian of Allendale, N.J., friend of the groom, and Clay Cannon of Woodstock, Ga., friend of the groom.
Flower girl was Ryan Polson, cousin of the bride. Ring bearer was Rory Evan Polson, cousin of the bride.
The couple honeymooned in San Francisco and live in Beaufort.
