Molners celebrate 66th anniversary

Alex and Joan Molner of Bluffton celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on Aug. 16, 2013. They were married in 1947 in Pittsburgh. Before retiring to the Lowcountry, Joan worked as a secretary for 30 years at Gibsonia Presbyterian Church in Gibsonia, Pa., and Alex was CEO of R.T. Lewis Co., in Pittsburgh for 30 years. He also served in the Air Force from 1942-45 and retired as a Captain. Alex received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters. On June 24, Alex was presented with the Legion of Honeur by the French Ambassador to the United States for his service in WWII. They have three children, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
