Evelyn Murdaugh Mitchell of Greenville, South Carolina, and Craig Carruth Link of Washington, District of Columbia, were married on June 8, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church in Beaufort, South Carolina. The Reverend Robert Sumter Link performed the wedding ceremony. A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Carl Mitchell of Beaufort, South Carolina. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Cecil Mitchell and the late Mr. Mitchell of Beaufort and the late Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Earle Sadler of Clinton, South Carolina. She was graduated from Columbia University and the University of South Carolina School of Law. She is employed with Greenville County Public Defender's office in Greenville, South Carolina.
The groom is the son of Katherine Carruth Goode of Winnsboro, South Carolina, and Robert Sumter Link, Jr., of Clinton, South Carolina. He is the grandson of the Reverend and Mrs. Robert Sumter Link of Holden Beach, North Carolina, and Mrs. Edward Hampton Carruth of Dublin, Georgia and the late Reverend Carruth. He was graduated from the University of South Carolina Honors College and the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is employed with the Honorable James E. Clyburn, United States House of Representatives.
Julia Mitchell Renken was her sister's matron of honor. Flower girls were Margaret Evelyn Adams, Amelia Catherine Mitchell, and Sadler Ellen Tyer. Robert Sumter Link, III, brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were David Carl Mitchell, Jr., brother of the bride; Robert Kenneth Renken, III, brother-in-law of the bride; Alexander Nygaard Pietras, Kyle Lamar Bishop, Bryan Patrick Lelasher and David Ryan Hopp. The ring bearer was Stuart Owens Tyer, the bride's cousin.
The rehearsal dinner was given by the groom's parents the evening before the wedding. The couple will make their home in Washington, D.C.
