Kyra Leigh Varney of Stanley, N.C., and Jake Hartley of Bluffton, S.C. were married Oct. 8, 2011, on Hilton Head Island.
The bride is the daughter of Richard Varney of Stanley, N.C., and the late Mitzi Varney. The groom is the son of Martha Hartley of Blffton and David Hartley of Winston Salem, N.C.
The Rev Don Rossrie offciated. The bride was given away by her father, Richard Varney. Maid of honor was Devin Varney, sister of the bride, of Stanley and matron of honor was Sarah Hunt, sorority sister of the bride, of Charlotte, N.C.
Bridesmaids were Emily Semmel of Washington, DC, Sarah Embry of Hickory, N.C. and Kelli Ball, of Charleston, S.C., all sorority sisters of the bride.
Best men were Zach Hartley and Rob Schoch, both of Bluffton, brothers of the groom.
Groomsmen were: Chris Broome of Bluffon, Jon Morrison, cousin of the groom, of Harrisburg, Pa., and Dell Castillo, Columbia, S.C.
The couple honeymooned at Sandals Resort, Ocho Rios, Jamaica. They reside in Bluffton.
The bride graduated from East Gaston High School in Mount Holly, N.C., in 2006 and then graduated from Lenoir Rhyne University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in 2010. She taught at St. Stephens Luthern School in Hickory, N.C. and is now living in Bluffton, S.C.
The groom graduated from Hilton Head High School in 2005 and then graduated from Lenoir Rhyne Univer sity in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. He is now working for Drayer Physical Therapy in Bluffton.
