Logan Widmer Smith of Charleston, S.C. and Peter A. Pollak Jr. of Tybee Island, Ga., were married at 4 p.m. on May 7, 2011 at The Mansion at Rose Hill in Bluffton.
The bride is the daughter of Stan and Margie Smith of Hilton Head Island, and the groom is the son of Peter and Suzanne Pollak of Charleston.
Dr. Martin Lifer III of Providence Presbyterian Church officiated as the bride was given in marriage by her father, Stan Smith.
Maid of Honor was Austin Church Smith, of New York City, N.Y., the bride's sister. Bridesmaids were: Caroline Pollak Marandino, of Rumford, RI, the groom's sister; Kathy Sell Smith of Raleigh, N.C., and Jordan Ussery Smith of New York City, N.Y., sisters-in-law of the bride; Elizabeth Fry of San Antonio, Texas; Abbey Orski of Boston, Mass.; and Tracey Winn of Charleston, S.C.
Best man was Christopher Pollak of San Diego, Calif., brother of the groom. He was absent from the wedding because he was undergoing MARSOC Special Forces training. Groomsman Charles Pollak of San Diego, Calif., brother of the groom, was also absent because he was serving as an Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps in Afghanistan. Both brothers were dearly missed and honored for their service during the wedding. Other groomsmen were: Ramsey Smith of Raleigh, N.C., and Trevor Smith of New York City, N.Y., brothers of the bride; Max Carter of New York City, N.Y., cousin of the groom; Will Tally of Athens, Ga.; Brian Kern of Charleston, S.C.; and Michael Bandy of Tybee Island, Ga.
The flower girls were 6-year-old Anna Pollak, daughter of the groom and 2 1/2-year-old Annabella Marandino, niece of the groom. The Ring Bearer was Austin Webb Smith, the 1 1/2-year-old nephew of the bride.
The bride was born and raised on Hilton Head Island where she attended Hilton Head Christian Academy for high school. She graduated from The University of Virginia with a degree in Spanish where she played on the women's tennis team.
The groom also grew up on Hilton Head Island and attended St. Paul's School in New Hampshire for high school. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in History where he rode on the Men's cycling team. He works as a distributor for medical device sales.
Following a honeymoon in St. Barts, the couple will live on Tybee Island, Ga.
