Local Realtors show off Gascoigne Bluff neighborhood
A group of local Realtors and homeowners held a quintissentially Lowcountry social event Sept. 22 on Gascoigne Bluff, in an effort to inform potential buyers about a unique residential community.
The agents called the event an effort to "think outside the box" to market upscale property during trying economic times.
The three sellers, three real estate agencies and three caterers worked together to organize a Sunday afternoon event that showcased the exclusive neighborhood in greater
Bluffton.
The event gave the caterers the opportunity to display their talents to guests, who also enjoyed different wines. Guests were invited to come "by land or by sea," by invitation only to protect the privacy of the community.
Coldwell Banker agents Debbie Wood, Julie Lynch and Mary Vaux proposed the idea for the event. Listing agents Denise Horry (Celia Dunn Sotheby's International Realty) and Neil Castellane of the Wm. F. Hilton Company also participated in the creative marketing
idea.
Gascoigne Bluff is a 400- acre private community with 21 multi-acre estate home sites, all with access to the May River and expansive views of the tidal river and salt marshes.
Owners share 240 acres of common property for horses, hunting, all terrain vehicle and other outdoor activities. The natural beauty of the community is enhanced by many majestic live oak trees.
Food was served at three properties on the market. Bess Soper of Bess' Delicatessen & Catering, served Charlie's shrimp dip, Hawaiian pineapple cheese ring, and ham biscuits at the Vaux residence.
Captain Woody's provided local shrimp and "he crab soup" in the Herbkersman home.Wines there were an assortment of Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon and champagnes.
