• HGTV is building its second annual "green" home in Tradition Florida, the sister community of Tradition Hilton Head. One lucky winner will receive the fully-furnished, custom-built 2009 HGTV Green Home next spring. It is a Spanish contemporary-style, coastal Florida cottage under construction in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The home will feature both construction and design elements that are known to contribute to an energy efficient, cleaner and even healthier living environment.

Like last year, the HGTV Green Home will register to receive a significant Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification. LEED for Homes, a voluntary rating system, is a nationwide residential certification project of the U.S. Green Building Council. Viewers can enter to win the home and grand prize package from April 17 through June 5. Fans can get a virtual tour on HGTV.com beginning in April, followed by a televised tour during the HGTV Green Home 2009 special April 19 at 8 p.m. The success of last year's giveaway in Tradition Hilton Head showed HGTV that many viewers are interested in hearing more about green

lifestyles.
