Messinger, Phillips wed

Ashley Nicole “Nikki” Messinger, of Moore and Nicholas Terry Phillips, of Spartanburg, were married June 13, 2009, in the First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg.

The Rev. Dr. David Alistair Renwick and the Rev. Dr. James Alfred Moore officiated in the 6 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Allen Messinger, of Moore. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Faison McDaniel III, of Spartanburg and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Terry Phillips, of Hilton Head Island.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Stacey Messinger Morgan of Spartanburg, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were: Emily Paige Caskey, of Columbia, Robbie Lee Gordon, of Clemson, Kerri Tucker Hembree and Laura Ashley Painter, of Spartanburg, Courtney Meggan Richard, of New York. Honorary bridesmaid was Hayden Nicole Phillips, the groom’s sister.

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Thomas John Borowski, John Pendleton Moore, Simon Michael Noone, all of Spartanburg, Rawlins Lowndes, of Charleston, and Ross MacGregor Steel of New Orleans. Ushers were the groom’s cousins, Spencer Miles Floyd, of Lake City and Brandon Lacy Prosser, of Charleston.

After a honeymoon in Dominican Republic, the couple will live in Spartanburg.
