  • Nash to perform at Music At Noon
    Hilton Head Island native Maggie Nash will sing at Music At Noon on Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church on Hilton Head. Nash will be accompanied by organist/pianist W. Raymond Ackerman. Prior to attending Presbyterian College, where she is currently a junior, Nash graduated from the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. She performed with the Cantus Chamber Choir and South Carolina Governor's School Choir in Europe, Austria and the Czech Republic. Music At Noon programs are open to the public at no charge.   • Cruise the Calibogue to support Heroes
    Hilton Head Heroes' "Cruisin' the Calibogue" event will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. July 11 aboard the Spirit of Harbour Town. The sunset cruise fundraiser -- hosted in memory of Hutch Hutchinson, a board member and supporter of Hilton Head Heroes -- will feature champagne, desserts, hors d'oeuvres and music. The boat will depart from the pier behind the Harbour Town Lighthouse, and cocktail attire and boat-friendly shoes are suggested. Tickets cost $75 a person. (full story)

  • Armed Services YMCA to display student art
    The Armed Services YMCA, a national nonprofit organization supporting families of military personnel, will display award-winning art from Beaufort fifth-grader Nikita Martin and other children demonstrating why they are proud of their military family. The artwork will be on display through today on Capitol Hill. Martin's work will be displayed along with all 25 other winning pieces from the ASYMCA's national art and essay contest in an exhibit sponsored by U.S. Senator Herb Kohl. (full story)
