Honey Horn to host 'Family Fun Day'

The Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn will host a "Family Fun Day" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 1.

The event will bring together local artists, craftsman, chefs, vendors and much more, and the museum will be open.

The Discovery House will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 pm for those wishing to explore the Apple Pie Painters exhibit in the Hilton Head Regional Healthcare Temporary Exhibit, walk on the property's many trails and boardwalks, visit the Heritage garden, see the largest red cedar in the state or sit under the 300-year-old Virginia live oaks.

• Kids' Zone: Costumes, games and mural hunt

• Marilyn Lorenz: "Great Blue Gert" booksigning from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• Yostie, the puppeteer: 12:30 to 2:00 pm.
