If you thought politics and reality TV didn't mix, you obviously haven't heard of Thomas Ravenel. (Or CSPAN for that matter, but this is way more entertaining, promise.)
Turns out the Bravo TV "Southern Charm" star and Independent U.S. Senate candidate has been mixing his two vocations while on the campaign trail.
Ravenel was on Lady's Island Monday night to talk about his campaign with Beaufort Tea Party members when his campaign manager, Scott Wheeler, said that a film crew had been filming parts of Ravenel's political foray.
Bravo TV announced in July that it was renewing "Southern Charm" for a second season.
Never miss a local story.
Ravenel offered one of the most compelling storylines of the first season, often talking openly about his resignation from the S.C. treasurer position amid drug charges and his time spent in federal prison. He also began dating a much younger cast member, Kathryn Dennis, with whom he had a child in March.
At the meeting, Ravenel sidestepped questions about the show, only saying that it will air next February, after the election.
