Beaufort Art Association will have an exhibit of works by watermedia artist Polly Swenson through June 21 at its gallery, 913 Bay St., Beaufort.
Swenson is a member of the association has has exhibited throughout the Southeast. The exhibit, "Highlights of the Lowcountry," will feature slightly romanticized looks at local landscapes and images, such as a shrimp boat sailing home or birds in their natural habitat.

She found a Paris-trained teacher and began to study painting in earnest. She sold her first painting a year later and has sold commercially ever since. She and her husband, Carter, moved to Beaufort in 1989. Her work can be found in private collections from across the United States as well as corporate officers in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
