The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra will perform its annual "Symphony Under the Stars" concert at 7:30 p.m. April 8 and 9 in a circus tent on the grounds of the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
The theme of this year's concert is "Carnival." HHSO conductor John Morris Russell and the orchestra will be joined by the eclectic Velvet Caravan Band, a Savannah band that performs a combination of honky-tonk, gypsy, Latin and swing in what they describe as "European redneck music."
Guests bring their own food, drink and table settings, which can be as elaborate or as simple as they like. Wine, beer, soft drinks and water will be available for purchase from the League of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra. Audience members are encouraged to don costumes inspired by the theme, and to decorate their tables and menus in a fun-filled competition for a wide range of prizes.
Tickets are $70; $700 for a table. There are six premium tables available for each night at $80 or $800 for the table. Proceeds from beverage sales will go to support local youth orchestra programs.
Never miss a local story.
