Two "American Idol" watch parties are planned this week in Beaufort, one on Wednesday for the show's finale and another Thursday when this season's winner will be announced.
Another is planned on Hilton Head Island.
St. Helena Island native Candice Glover, one of the two remaining contestants, will perform three songs in the finale, which airs from 8 to 9 p.m. Wednesday on Fox. She'll find out if she is the next American Idol during the results show, which airs from 8 to 10 p.m. Thursday.
The University of South Carolina Beaufort Performing Arts Center in Beaufort is hosting the watch party Wednesday.
The event is free, but tickets are being distributed because seating is limited. Tickets can be picked up at the USCB box office from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Wednesday or at the Beaufort Area Visitor Center, 713 Craven St., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Wednesday.
Tickets can also be reserved by calling the visitor center at 843-525-8531 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., and then picked up before 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Arsenal and after 6 p.m. at USCB.
Doors at the Performing Arts Center open at 7 p.m. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door Wednesday, starting at 6 p.m.
On Thursday, the Highway 21 Drive-in movie theater in Beaufort is hosting an "Idol" results show watch party. Gates open at 6 p.m., and concessions will be available.
Park Plaza Cinema on Hilton Head Island will also be holding an "Idol" watch party Wednesday, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m.
All the events are free, but donations will be collected for the Candice Glover Community Celebration Fund to help offset the cost of Glover's homecoming concert.
