Lowcountry native Rushton Bowen is in town and will perform at 9 p.m. Jan. 28, at Corner Perk, 142 Burnt Church Road, Bluffton. After recording "The Nashville Sessions Part 1" in 2010, Bowen has been focusing on a new collection of works, "Newborn South," which has been generating a buzz with Nashville's indie music crowd. The singer/songwriter plays folks and Americana. He returns to the Lowcountry with Nashville blues/rock outfit Apollo and Lacuna, celebrating frontman Josh Keas' wrapup of a Southeast tour and acoustic reissue of the critically acclaimed "Of Lions and Liberty." Cost is $5 at the door.
