Bluffton United Methodist Men's Club (BUMMs) is selling Golden Kernel pecans. Orderswill be available in mid-November, in time for holiday baking and gifts. Pecans can be frozen for about a year. Final date to order is Nov. 8.Prices start at $7.25 for a 1 lb. bag of fancy jumbo halves. Family-owned Golden Kernel Pecan Company is located in Cameron, S.C., and the nuts are grown in South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. The Sun City Community Theatre will present the drama "The Lion In Winter" at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29-31 and 2 p.m. Oct. 31 at Magnolia Hall in Sun City Hilton Head. "The Lion In Winter" was made into a movie in 1968 that starred Peter O'Toole and Katherine Hepburn and was nominated for seven Academy Awards. Tickets are $18-$20 and can be purchased at the box office in Magnolia Hall from 9 to 11 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The Lowcountry Civil War Round Table (LCWRT) will meet at 6:45 p.m. Oct. 14 at Bluffton High School. John C.(Jack) Waugh will speak on the most important generals of the North and South in their formative years prior to the outbreak of the Civil War in 1861.He is a nationally known historian and author of "The Class of 1846: From West Point to Appomattox - Stonewall Jackson, George McClellan and Their Brothers.
