• Michael C. Riley Elementary School will hold its Riley Run Pep Rally on Friday. The event is designed to teach students the importance of fitness, education and character.Students will be collecting pledges for their Riley Run.
There will be a meeting for parents of Project REACH (Reaching Every African-American Child and Home) at 6 p.m. Thursday in the multipurpose room.

• Tickets for The Hilton Head Dance Theatre's production of "The Nutcracker," which runs Saturday-Nov. 15 at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, are on sale. The ballet features the school's nearly 300 students, as well as guest professional artists.
Tickets are $26 for adults and $17 for 18 and under. A $5 facility fee is applied by the arts center for each ticket.

• The Bluffton Boys & Girls Club's parent group, I.M.P.A.C.T., will host its second annual oyster roast from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the club, 100 H.E. McCracken Circle. The adults-only event, which is open to the public, will feature all-you-can-eat oysters, barbecue and sides and a wine and beer cash bar. The Bluffton Oyster Co. will cater the event. There will be an oyster-shucking contest and a "fastest human oyster-eating contest." A disc jockey will provide entertainment.
Tickets are $30 each, $50 a couple or $250 for a table of 10. Tickets are available at the club, Bluffton Oyster Co., All-Pro Tire & Lube Center, Major League Barber Shop or by calling 843-757-2845. Off-site babysitting will be available for $10 a child at Kids College, 17 Goethe Road. To sign up, call 843-476-1086 (minimum of 15 children). Parking will be available at Bluffton Elementary School with a shuttle bus to the oyster roast.
In addition, I.M.P.A.C.T. will hold a golf tournament to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Bluffton starting at 1 p.m. Nov. 14 at Old Carolina. The tournament is a shotgun start and has a scramble format. Cost is $35 per individual golfer; each golfer will receive one, nine-hole tournament round, one come-back round, and a half pound hamburger after the tournament. • Recovery Management Associates, an outpatient addiction program based in Bluffton, has classes scheduled for November, including "Getting Stuck in Recovery," "Families Living with Addiction" and "Early to Middle Recovery."
The four-week classes start next week. Cost is $160; reservations are required to participate.

• Selected photographs by the Photography Club of Sun City will be on exhibit at the Bluffton library through Dec. 9.
These public displays are made up of pictures that the individual members of the club feel represent their most interesting recent work.
