Beaufort denies using heavy hand in Boundary Street project traffic enforcement

Beaufort police are not aggressively targeting Boundary Street drivers to make money for the city, city manager Bill Prokop said. Police have written 123 speeding tickets since the project started in earnest Jan. 1 and more than 600 tickets overall, but the numbers are only a small percentage of the millions of cars on the roadway during that time, he said.
