Arts Council wants to 'get your art out'

The Arts Council of Beaufort County has a new, emerging arts initiative. "Get Your Art Out" is about the business of art, life as an artist and nurturing the arts in Beaufort County. A visual arts track begins in February, and will be followed by literary opportunities in a partnership with Iodine Literary Projects.

The Teaching Artist Institute, a component of "Get Your Art Out," starts Feb 2. Artists interested in sharing their work in the classroom can apply to attend a series of preparatory workshops led by Lowcountry Teaching Artists, as well as a two-day workshop with a Teaching Artist from the Kennedy Center in Washington.
