Island man threatens girlfriend with shard
A Hilton Head Island man faces a felony domestic violence charge for allegedly placing a shard of broken glass against his girlfriend's neck, according to a Beaufort County sheriff's report.
Eric A. Anderson, 27, of Lamotte Drive, faces one count of high-and-aggravated criminal domestic violence in connection with the incident at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
His 23-year-old girlfriend told deputies Anderson became upset when she didn't want to share a bed with him. He threw a 30-pound air purifier at her and then choked her until she became light-headed, the report said.
Anderson then broke a picture frame on the woman's knee and tried to cut her neck, the woman told police. She was treated for minor wounds at Hilton Head Hospital.
The pair had been drinking just
before the fight.
If convicted, Anderson faces up to
10 years in prison.
