Maria Skrip, left, of Re/Max Island Realty accepts a gown Aug. 26, 2014, from donor Karen Renshaw of Bluffton at the company’s Hilton Head Island office. The real estate firm is collecting previously worn gowns to help Marine wives attend the annual U.S. Marine Corps’ ball Nov. 10. "If you could see the looks on the women’s faces when they pick out the gowns," Skrip said, "it makes them very happy." Gowns and formal wear for "Operation Fairy Gown Mother" can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday at the following Re/Max Island Realty locations: 1111 Bay St., Beaufort, 843-525-0020; 30 William Pope Drive, Bluffton, 843-707-7560; and 99 Main St., Hilton Head Island, 843-785-5252.
