Dustin Rushing

A 21-year-old Bluffton man was charged with intent to distribute heroin Wednesday following a traffic stop in Bluffton, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Dustin Rushing was driving near Buckwalter Parkway and The Reserve at Woodbridge when he was stopped by a member of the sheriff's Drug Investigations Section, Sgt. Robin McIntosh said.

The officer learned Rushing had an outstanding warrant with the Bluffton Police Department, and during a search of the vehicle, the officer found heroin, McIntosh said.

He was charged with possession with intent to distribute the drug. He was in the Beaufort County Detention Center on Thursday, with bond set at $20,000, according to court records.
