Bluffton residents show that they care

newsroom@islandpacket.comJuly 17, 2014

On July 5, I fell outside of the Petco store in Bluffton. Many people -- customers and staff -- came to my aid. I was helped up and given water and a chair. Employees stayed with me until help arrived. A lady in the puppy-training class gave me a fruit bar while a gentleman called 911 on his cellphone.

Abby Bird, who conducts the puppy- training class, offered to take our dog for a few days to help, and phoned the next day to see how I was. A couple helped my husband take our dog home. The EMT workers and the hospital staff provided excellent care.

I am very grateful to all who helped me that day. It goes to prove what I have heard many times, and now know first hand -- Bluffton is a wonderful place to live.

Thank you, everyone. May God bless you.
