Bluffton Boiled Peanut Festival Aug. 23

The Bluffton Boiled Peanut Festival is scheduled for Aug. 23 at the Promenade in Old Town.

The festival will be on State of Mind Street between noon and 5 p.m. and will feature a boiled peanut-eating contest, a peanut bake-off, and a "Lil Goober and Li'l Miss Peanut" contest in which children will be judged based on their dress and their love for boiled peanuts.

The festival will also feature a play area with games and activities, and live music by Georgia Mountain String Company and Waits & Company.
