A 29-year-old man who thought he was going to buy marijuana Saturday night on Hilton Head Island ended up being robbed instead, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release.

Deputies were called just after 11:30 p.m. to Woodlake Villas, where the victim said he had planned to visit a friend, but was met by a female acquaintance who asked if he wanted to buy marijuana. The victim agreed and went for a walk with her.

After a while, two black men dressed in all-black clothing pushed the victim to the ground, and one held him at gunpoint. His cellphone and cash were stolen, and the woman and two men ran away, the release said.
