There's a big delay in appeals process

newsroom@islandpacket.comJuly 13, 2014

On Oct. 17, 2013, I mailed my appeal of the 2013 assessment on my home to the assessor's office. Since that time I have contacted the assessor's office twice to learn the status of my appeal. I was told each time my appeal is being handled in chronological order.

Wow. It's been months and still no response. Something has to be wrong in the assessor's office. I wonder who is responsible, and who is responsible for seeing who is responsible?
