Second candidate files for Beaufort City Council

Stephen Murray, 33, has filed to run in the Nov. 4 Beaufort City Council election.

Two seats are available. Incumbent Donnie Beer filed Wednesday, the first day of the filing period. Murray filed Friday.

Councilman Mike Sutton is not running for another term.

The filing period ends at noon Aug. 15. Candidate packets are available at or at City Hall, 1911 Boundary St. All seats are elected at-large.

Murray, president of Kazoobie Kazoos and owner of New South Shirts, is on the city's Redevelopment Commission. His term as chairman of the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce's Board of Trustees ended last month.
