A 37-year-old Charleston man was arrested Thursday in Port Royal, accusing of sexually assaulting a minor, according to police.

Michael Nolff was charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor in connection with the incident, which occurred about two years ago at the Preserve at Port Royal when the victim was 6 years old, according to a Port Royal Police Department news release.

The alleged assault was discovered by another agency during an unrelated investigation, the release said. Nolff is being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center without bond, according to police.
