Kandace Crawley

A 29-year-old Seabrook woman was arrested Thursday and accused of inflicting serious burns on her child in February, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Kandace Crawley was arrested on an outstanding warrant in connection with the Feb. 10 incident, in which her 2-year-old son suffered second- and third-degree burns from a hot bath, according to the warrant. An Augusta, Ga., doctor who analyzed the child's injuries told deputies they were the result of child abuse, not an accidental fall into the bathtub, the warrant states.

The Sheriff's Office secured a warrant June 18 and located Crawley on Thursday at a relative's home in Beaufort. Crawley remains at the Beaufort County Detention Center, with bond set at $20,000.
