Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 115 departed Beaufort Wednesday, headed for a deployment in the Western Pacific.

The squadron will support multinational exercises to improve the Marine Corps' ability to work with allies, a news release said.

The deployment will also expose Marines to various training environments.

Known as the "Silver Eagles," the squadron operates the F/A-18C Hornet and conducts joint aviation operations to support a Marine Air Ground Task Force commander's war-fighting functions.
