Dillon Clark

Beaufort County corrections officers searching a Hilton Head Island man Wednesday found marijuana, crack cocaine and prescription medicine hidden under his genitals, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

A deputy noticed a car driven by Dillon Clark, 23, abruptly stop about 50 yards short of the intersection of William Hilton Parkway and Gumtree Road on Hilton Head, according to Sgt. Robin McIntosh.

The deputy followed the car into a convenience store parking lot and spoke to Clark about the stop and his having parked in a handicapped spot, McIntosh said. Clark, who smelled of alcohol, told the deputy he would take a taxi home, but became disorderly when the deputy tried to speak with him further, according to McIntosh.

Clark was arrested shortly after 6 a.m., charged with public disorderly conduct and taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center. Because he continuously kicked the inside of a patrol car during the ride, breaking a microphone cord, Clark was charged with malicious injury to property, McIntosh said.

After corrections officers found drugs on Clark, he was also charged with trafficking between 10 and 28 grams of crack cocaine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

He remained in jail Wednesday, with bond set at $63,012.50, according to court records.
