Man held up at Bluffton apartment complex

A man was robbed at gunpoint outside a Bluffton apartment complex late Tuesday, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

The 32-year-old victim told deputies he was trying to visit Plantation Point to pick up a friend, but had difficulty entering the gate. When he pulled over to the side of the road, he was approached by a man who pulled him from the vehicle, pointed a handgun and demanded money, according to a news release.

After stealing an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber ran away. The victim did not suffer major injuries, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The robber was described as black, 5-foot-9, 20 to 25 years old, 190 pounds, with short dreadlocks, wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
