A 29-year-old Pritchardville man was arrested Friday after deputies seized 75 grams of cocaine and 660 grams of marijuana from his home, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release.

The search followed a months-long investigation in which members of the Sheriff's Office made controlled drug purchases from Ferris Simmons at his May River Road home and several Bluffton locations, the release said.

At about 6 a.m. Friday, deputies met Simmons at his home and seized cocaine and marijuana. Also seized were 53 grams of crack cocaine; 16 grams of MDMA, or "Ecstasy"; 50 grams of hashish; 41 oxycodone pills; nine morphine pills; three firearms; two bullet-proof vests; and $1,361 cash.

Simmons was charged with trafficking cocaine, crack cocaine and MDMA, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana and hashish.

He was also charged with possession with intent to distribute each of those substances within half a mile of a school, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, three counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and one count of possession of a S3chedule II controlled substance.

He was being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center Friday, with bail set at $285,000, according to court records.
