A pair of men from Beaufort and Ridgeland were among 71 people arrested in Georgia in an FBI sting targeting child sex trafficking, according to an FBI news release.

Timothy Kimball, 28, of Beaufort, and Jerald Hammond, 34, of Ridgeland, were arrested and charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes, the release said.

Information on the men's arrest date was not available.

The sting, called Operation Cross Country VIII, was a weeklong operation that included enforcement in the Atlanta, Macon, Augusta and Savannah areas of Georgia in the past week.

The operation led to the recovery of 11 juveniles who were being victimized through prostitution or other computer-based exploitation, the release said.
