Burning schedule is inconvenient

newsroom@islandpacket.comJune 20, 2014

To the people who came up with the schedule for the Town of Hilton Head Island's dates to burn yard debris, July 4 and 5: really? It's bad enough that there are no make-up dates for rain or high-wind cancellations, but to do it on July 4?

Then we have the Sunday/Monday and Friday/Saturday burns. Most of us "burners" happen to work during the week and are now limited to one (hopefully) day to burn. How about reevaluating the schedule and coming up with make-up dates?
