Beaufort High hires Livesay to replace Beasley as basketball coach

Nathan Livesay has been hired as the next Beaufort High School boys basketball coach, athletics director Jerry Linn said Wednesday.

Livesay was an assistant at Dreher this past season. He was the head coach at Sumter for eight years before resigning in 2011 and becoming involved in missions work, Linn said.

Livesay compiled a 155-55 record at Sumter, won four region titles and reached the playoffs each season.

During his season at Dreher, the Blue Devils finished 19-1, won the Region 4-AAAA title and reached the Class 4-A quarterfinals.

Livesay has also served as an assistant at A.C. Flora High School, Presbyterian College, and King University in Bristol, Tenn.

Livesay replaces longtime coach Bruce Beasley, who was told in March his contract would not be renewed.
