A Bluffton man was injured in a one-vehicle wreck Wednesday when his motorcycle crashed along Bluffton Parkway, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.

Christopher Flueras, 33, was traveling on Bluffton Parkway near the Lakes at Myrtle Park community about 8:40 p.m. when the accident occurred, the report said. A deputy estimated he was traveling about 70 mph in a 45 mph zone, according to the report.

Flueras was transported to Coastal Carolina Hospital for treatment and then airlifted to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah due to the severity of his injuries, the report said. His condition was not available from the hospital Friday.

Sgt. Robin McIntosh said she did not know what caused the wreck, though Flueras was cited for operating a motor vehicle while uninsured, reckless driving and no South Carolina driver's license, according to the report.
