An SUV crashed into a shed in Beaufort after failing to stop at an intersection, according to a Beaufort Fire Department Facebook post made Wednesday.

"Tragedy was averted when the driver of this vehicle ... missed a child on a bicycle before colliding with the shed," the post said. The shed is located at the intersection of Battery Creek and Allison roads.

Beaufort firefighters were joined by members of Beaufort County EMS and the Beaufort Police Department at the scene of the wreck.
