Hearing on zoning changes scheduled on Hilton Head

newsroom@islandpacket.comJune 1, 2014

The Town of Hilton Head Island has scheduled a public hearing at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Town Hall to discuss proposed new zoning districts.

The changes are being considered to "create flexibility for redevelopment while still maintaining the values and characteristics of Hilton Head Island," according to a town news release.

The town also has an online tool to help residents determine whether the plan will affect their properties. Users can enter an address or parcel number, and a map will pop up, along with a description of the proposed zoning change, if applicable.

To view the draft land-management ordinance document and the map viewer, go to hiltonheadislandsc.gov/misc/lmorewrite.cfm.
