USC Beaufort junior Taylor Triplett was named Friday to the NAIA All-America Softball Team, selected by the NAIA All-America committee.

Triplett, a first baseman from Murrieta, Calif., was a second-team selection, adding to a long list of honors this season. She previously was named to the All-Sun Conference first team and was a second-team CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-America selection.

Triplett had a terrific year at the plate, leading the Sand Sharks in batting average (.455), hits (70), home runs (10), and slugging (.727) while adding 12 doubles, 43 RBIs, 31 runs scored and a .485 on-base percentage as USCB finished 39-11 and was the regular-season and tournament runner-up in the Sun Conference.

Shortstop C.J. Browder was a first-team pick and pitcher Kristy Cook earned honorable mention last season for USCB.
