IJGA's Marta Silva to play in US Women's Open

Former International Junior Golf Academy student Marta Silva of Spain was one of four players to qualify for the U.S. Women's Open Championship through sectional qualifying Thursday at Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford, N.C.

Silva, the 2011 National and SEC golfer of the year and a four-time All-American at Georgia, shot a 3-under-par 69-72--141 on the 6,493-yard, par-72 Lake Course to finish second, a stroke behind medalist Stacy Keating.

The U.S. Women's Open Championship will be held June 19 through 22 in Pinehurst, N.C.. at the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club.
