USC Beaufort women's golfer Samantha O'Donnell


USC Beaufort junior Samantha O'Donnell has been named to the 2014 NAIA Women's Golf All-America team, as selected by the NAIA Women's Golf Coaches Association All-America Committee.

O'Donnell, a three-year letterwinner from Hilton Head Island, earned third-team honors after a season in which she posted a scoring average of 79.7 strokes in 24 rounds.

O'Donnell previously was named to the All-Sun Conference Team as well as the Sun Conference All-Academic Team. She also earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.

O'Donnell posted six top-10 finishes in 11 events this season, including a tie for fifth at the Sun Conference Championship. She also won medalist honors in a three-way match with SCAD Savannah and Mount Mercy, tied for third at the SCAD Fall Invitational and tied for fourth at the Converse Fall Invitational and the Embry-Riddle Eagle Invitational.

O'Donnell is the fourth member of the USCB women's golf team to earn All-America honors, joining Bluffton's Kendra Collins in 2012 and Kelli Nakano and Tori DeGroodt in 2013.
