Ridgeland man killed in single-car wreck Saturday

A 26-year-old Ridgeland man was killed in a one-vehicle wreck on U.S. 321 in Jasper County early Saturday morning, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

John Glenn Campbell Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck, Jasper County Coroner Martin Sauls said. He was reportedly traveling south on U.S. 321 when his car went off the road, struck a tree and overturned, according to the Highway Patrol.

Campbell was not wearing a seatbelt, a trooper said.

Additional details of the wreck, including the time when it occurred, were not available Saturday. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
