Woman struck by boat propeller off Port Royal

A young woman was injured Friday afternoon when she fell out of a boat in Port Royal and her foot was struck by the propeller, according to Dick Jennings of the Beaufort Water Search & Rescue Squadron.

The squadron was preparing to rescue the female victim about 2 p.m. when Jennings said he learned she was brought ashore near the Port Royal Landing Marina and transported to Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Additional information, including the victim's name, age and condition, were not available Saturday. Further information was not available from the Port Royal Police Department.
