Benghazi committee serves good purpose

newsroom@islandpacket.comMay 21, 2014

I read with interest the column by Trudy Rubin on May 14 regarding the House Select Committee on Benghazi. I agree there is no need for another hearing because we know who denied repeated requests for additional security in Benghazi.

It was ..., but that's not important, because when the terrorist attack began we know who it was who ordered our troops to "stand down" and not even attempt a rescue.

It was ..., but no matter, we know who ordered the dissemination of the false narrative that a video was at fault.

And, lastly, we know where President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were while four Americans were being slaughtered.

Because we the people have all this information, a Select Committee is GOP partisanship and a waste of time.
