Individual runner-up Andrew Orischak leads Hilton Head Island to 3rd in 3-A boys golf

The Hilton Head Island High School boys golf team finished third in the Class 3-A state championship, and a trio of area golfers were named All-State as a result of their finish in state tournaments on Wednesday.

Led by individual runner-up Andrew Orischak, the Seahawks finished the two-day Class 3-A tournament at Columbia's Wildewood in Columbia at 620, 15 strokes behind A.C. Flora (305), which won its fifth straight title.

Wren was second at 617.

Orischak shot 71-73--144 to finish five strokes behind medalist Keenan Huskey of Greenville. Hilton Head High teammate Travis Mancil shot 77-74--151 to tie for ninth and join Orischak on the Class 3-A All-State team.

Also scoring for the Seahawks were Gavin Lindstrom (85-79--164), Brooks Dyess (81-83--164) and Patrick Hall (82-86--168).

Bluffton's Alec Weary, playing as an individual in the Class 4-A championship at Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, shot a two-day total of 226 to tie for sixth and earn All-State honors.
