On Thursday, the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce 2014 Leadership Class will officially be recognized at two ribbon-cutting ceremonies for new fitness trails installed at Hilton Head's Jarvis Creek Park and Bluffton's Oscar J. Frazier Park.

The Public Recreation Outreach Wellness Project has placed 10 pieces of permanent cross-training equipment at each park. The fitness trails are free and open to the public during park hours.

The trails include a situp bench, pullup bar, parallel bars and pushup bars.

Members of the class sought private and corporate donors who gave more than $50,000 to make this community project a reality, which included constructing a covered exercise pavilion at Jarvis Creek Park.
