A man arrested Wednesday and charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin is a Hilton Head Island chiropractor, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Justin Cataldo, 38, is a chiropractor at Seaside Family Chiropractic at 58 Shelter Cove Lane, according to the practice's website.

Cataldo's chiropractic license was active as of Sunday, according to the S.C. Department of Laboring, Licensing and Regulations website. Attempts to reach the Department of Laboring, Licensing and Regulations' Office of Investigations and Enforcement were unsuccessful Sunday.

Cataldo was pulled over on Fording Island Road near Island West for following another vehicle too closely, Sgt. Robin McIntosh said. Deputies found envelopes containing heroin and hypodermic needles in the car, McIntosh said. It was not clear how much of the drug was seized.

Cataldo was released from the Beaufort County Detention Center after posting a $10,000 bond, according to the jail log.
